Red Sebastian releases video clip of Eurovision song 'Strobe Lights'

Red Sebastian, who will represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, released the video clip of his song Strobe Lights. The video clip can now be found on the official Eurovision Youtube channel. Just like the song Strobe Lights itself, the music video also pays tribute to the energy of rave culture.

A cinematic fever dream

The music video of Strobe Lights combines surrealism, energetic visuals and striking cinematography to create a cinematic fever dream. The video is a trip through an ever-changing world in which reality and illusion fade. At the center of the video is Red Sebastian, who steps into an elevator and unwittingly embarks on a hallucinatory journey through alternate realities.

On each floor, he discovers a new, exciting world. His mysterious alter ego 'Rave Sebastian' is both a guide and a challenger. He pulls Red Sebastian deeper and deeper into the unknown worlds. With each stop, the tension rises and the atmosphere becomes more intense. Until Red Sebastian is no longer a passenger in the elevator, but he becomes part of the madness himself.

"In the song Strobe Lights I play vocally with highs and lows, and I wanted to continue that visually—as I did earlier in the final of the Belgian preselections Eurosong 2025 . But this time with a real elevator in which we could really party. In addition, I enjoyed playing with the contrast between the everyday Seppe and the show animal that is Red Sebastian. I hope everyone finds the clip as epic as I do!"
The idea for the music video came from Red Sebastian - Seppe Herreman - himself:

The song Strobe Lights is an ode to the thumping beats of rave culture in terms of sound. Strobe Lights describes the story of an exciting club night: you know where it starts but not where it ends. The music video reflects these different elements: the clip was inspired by rave culture, the symbolism of Alice in Wonderland and the disorienting excitement of strobe lights illuminating spaces.

The music video was directed by Pascal Baillien, who previously directed the music video for The Hum by Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. Yves Ruth was creative director and choreographed. The recording of the video clip took place entirely on VRT. Strobe Lights was written by Seppe Herreman, Billie Bentein, Ameerah A. Roelants and Willem Vanderstichele.

The semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest can be followed live on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May on VRT 1 and via VRT MAX, the final will be broadcast on Saturday 17 May. Red Sebastian will represent Belgium in the first semifinal, on Tuesday 13 May.
