Bringing #LikeMe to life in Roblox: a collaboration on games, music and virtual experiences
The cast of Ketnet series #LikeMe is stepping into the digital age with a virtual concert in Roblox. The initiative is the result of an innovative collaboration between VRT, Ketnet, FABRIC MAGIC, and the Digital Arts & Entertainment department of Howest Kortrijk. By merging music, games, and virtual technology, the project offers fans an entirely new way to experience #LikeMe.
Pushing the boundaries of virtual entertainment
Roblox, one of the world’s most popular game platforms, allows users to explore digital spaces and create their own experiences. Ketnet has already established a presence with Ketnet Kermis, a virtual world where characters from various Ketnet programmes come together. Now, #LikeMe: De wereld van Mia takes this a step further, offering fans an interactive environment that extends beyond traditional television.
The highlight of the project is a virtual concert featuring the characters Mia, Louise, Sem, Raoul, Oscar, and Jules. Using state-of-the-art motion capture technology, the actors’ real-life movements and singing is translated into their digital avatars, creating an immersive experience unlike anything seen before in Flemish youth entertainment.
How VRT builds a Roblox world: from concept to cyberspace
Creating a Roblox world at VRT starts with a strong concept, whether it’s based on an existing brand like #LikeMe or an entirely new idea like Ketnet Kermis. The process begins with a team of creative professionals at VRT's innovation department brainstorming and drafting a detailed game design document. This includes mood boards, level layouts, and gameplay mechanics to ensure an engaging and immersive experience.
Once the concept is solidified, 3D artists develop the game’s visual assets, crafting buildings, landscapes, and interactive objects. Game developers then implement these assets into the Roblox platform, balancing visual appeal with performance optimization to ensure smooth gameplay on various devices. Clear user interfaces and intuitive controls are also key to making the experience accessible for young players.
This structured approach allows VRT to create captivating and innovative digital worlds, bringing Flemish youth entertainment to new frontiers.

What is #LikeMe? #LikeMe is a Belgian musical youth series that premiered on Ketnet in 2019. The original series followed Caro and her friends at SAS (School Aan de Stroom), navigating friendships, school life, and their love for music. In 2025, the show returned with a fresh storyline and a new cast, set in SAK (School Aan de Kust). A key feature of #LikeMe is its modern reinterpretation of classic Dutch and Flemish songs, introducing iconic hits to a new generation.
