MediaDigest

MediaDigest focuses on applying automated summaries and generative AI for innovative short-form content creation. The innovation project develops and validates technology that condenses a news article or text into an understandable synopsis based on machine learning. MediaDigest investigates the transformation of existing production and publishing workflows into hybrid semi-automated workflows with the help of extractive and abstractive summaries and smart content creation tools.

MediaDigest taps into the evolution towards story-based content production, allowing us to better shape news stories from the source within a new multimedia context. This will help Flemish media organisations to efficiently create new short-form content and make it accessible on various platforms to better reach (younger) target audiences. 

This project has received funding from the Flemish government, as part of the digital transformation programme for the Flemish media sector.
