Kids on the block
A cosy square in a working-class neighbourhood is home to our Kids on the Block: Ikram, the self-proclaimed leader. Mourad, the sporty brute. Rayan, the smooth pretty boy. Jasmien, the passionate photographer and Younes, the geeky nerd, form a close group of friends who are ‘in charge’ of the square, or so they claim.
Then you also have the ‘rascals’ Samir and Jasper. This duo always has a side hustle going on. Everyone has been a victim of their scams, but at the same time they are also the go-to guys if you want to get something done, but don’t want to get your hands dirty. In exchange for payment of course, usually in the form of football cards or chocolate. These rascals are protected by Tank, an older teenager who’s always training on the square.
The days go by quietly until.... a new family moves to the neighbourhood, which disrupts the fun dynamics considerably. Leyla, Soufiane and their little sister Naima move to the neighbourhood with their divorced mother Selma. Selfproclaimed player Rayan immediately falls in love with Leyla, who is a few years older. Ikram sees this as a threat to her friend group, or so she says. Is it because she secretly might have a crush on Rayan herself? Throughout the episodes and different adventures, Ikram, with the help of her friends, tries everything to prevent Rayan and Leyla from becoming a couple. But as always, the two rascals double-cross everyone.
