Shared AI

Shared AI aims to better standardise content descriptions across Flemish media players, based on the output of automated metadata extraction processes. The innovation project departs from an end-to-end vision that encompasses three objectives. First, it aims to generate new metadata through automated face recognition and speech recognition taking into account legal and ethical considerations. Second, it seeks to enrich and link metadata in a shared Flemish ontology linking to external data sources. Lastly, the project evaluates the experienced added value of the output through integration within editorial workflows.

The goal is to take steps towards a sustainable use of the developed techniques across media players. This would also enable smaller organisations to access these solutions. 

This project has received funding from the Flemish government, as part of the digital transformation programme for the Flemish media sector.
