Accessibility
VRT aims to be the broadcaster representing everyone in Flanders, including people with visual and hearing impairments. Therefore, VRT increasingly invests in specific applications and programming to accommodate them.
As part of programming for the hearing and visually impaired, VRT guarantees teletext subtitling where possible, and presents daily news broadcasts and on-demand programmes with Flemish Sign Language.
As part of programming for the blind and vision impaired, VRT yearly broadcasts various fiction series with audio description (narrator) and provides spoken subtitles (Teletext page 889) via a computerised voice.
VRT strives to make its digital platforms maximally available for everyone (including the hearing-, vision impaired or people with other impairments).
